Christmas is coming

Its three days into December and I still can't believe it. We are 12 months into the year already, 12 MONTHS where has the time gone? But guess who has been super duper prepared this year and bought most of her Christmas presents (me, If you hadn't guessed already.) I can't decide whether the Christmas mood has struck yet but I intend to post quite a few times throughout the month (no beauty posts any time soon! College is god damn stressful at the moment so Christmas will be a very welcomed holiday and I'll be glad when its here. (The food is a massively big bonus of Christmas) Is there any posts you would like to see from me? I really would like to post some Christmas themed baking posts or gift ideas.

Sighh Designs // phone cases + pocket mirrors

So if you didn't already know Sighh Designs is run by Polly Vadasz. She hand designs all her own phone cases, mirrors and Macbook skins. Now you have to admit they are pretty darn cool- each phone case costing £14 and the mirrors are around £3.50 I believe. Some people may believe that's a little expensive however she puts a lot of time and care into her cases- and they are also good quality so she deserves every penny. I have two cases: the autumn design and the Spagpoll, which I also have in pocket mirror form as well. Recently getting my Iphone 5s I needed a new phone case, so of course I popped over to Polly's shop- I've wanted one of her cases for a long time.
Pros-
  • quick delivery and very easy/ good service
  • good sturdy cases
  • pretty designs
Cons-
  • you will want more of the cases when you have one (even if you can't afford it)
head on over to website and have a sneaky look here

16 things I learnt whilst being 16

On Halloween (which has been and gone) it was ma 17th birthday. I only have three years or so left of being a teenager and that slightly scares me. Anyway I thought I'd have a reflection of the last year and 16 things I wish I knew about being 16 when I was 15.

1. You won't like coffee- even if you try to like Costa, Starbucks, Decaf, Latte. Coffees will not like you and your 16 old self (maybe 17 though, I'll give it a go)
2. Don't stress over exams, yes gcses are difficult however a levels are ridiculously hard. You will work hard and do sooo well- no need to worry
3. Lush bubble baths won't fix everything but you can still try- even if you can never find the perfect balance between the hot and cold water
4. Christmas is the best time of year without a doubt- the Michael Buble album may be largely connected to that
5. No matter how many times you say you won't get drunk again after a bad night, guess what you still will...
6. Reading books can make such a difference to your mental state/health so read as widely and as much as possible.
7. Avoid nasty friends and don't try and fit in you'll be proud of yourself in the future (good lungs for the win)
8. Make up and clothes can't buy happiness but treat yourself once in a while
9. Make sure to have me time- light candles, eat chocolate and prett-ify your room.
10. Don't count calories, it's dangerous it won't help, it will hurt you.
11. Films aren't real and although you want them to be, they aren't so don't expect a friends with benefits romance
12. Music is so important, you will learn and develop a actual good music taste ( arctic monkeys may feature in the near future)
13. Try new experiences and have more confidence- you'll surprise yourself. Oh and you'll love College it trumps secondary school.
14. Indulge in multiple domino pizzas and vanilla milkshakes because they are obviously delicious
15. It doesn't matter how many likes or followers you have on a social media network- and don't let society make you think otherwise
16. Stay organised and don't leave anything to the last minute- it just causes unnecessary panic and stress which you don't need.

festive lush induced purchases

Snow is falling all around us. Fa la la la la- Christmas mood is coming out and its only November! So it was my birthday on Friday and I was seventeen- anyone want to see a birthday related blog post? On Saturday I visited Brighton and of course took a cheeky trip to Lush. Many, actually all of the purchases were from the Halloween/Christmas range. My fav being the sparkly pumpkin, a beauty but also smells lush. (haha you also thought that was quite funny!) I may have also bought a present which rattles, a so called sparkler, a festive lush pud, a so white ball of goodness, a dashing santa and some others.

brandy melville // new in

Heya you lovely lot, I asked on Instagram who wanted to see this post and I got a yes (mainly Aileen haha:)!) And of course seeing as I had the pictures of course I wanted to do a haul! If you didn't know Brandy Melville is an American shop which sells the softest and nicest clothes in THE W-O-R-L-D. So you should have seen my face when I saw the store in Chelsea *there is a post about this trip* and obviously I had to go in and obviously buy things.

two dresses- these I believe are called baby doll/shift/skater dress one of those three! I got them in a daisy print (as of course I'm flower crazy) and stripes because I don't have enough of that in my wardrobe either! Both were around £29 I believe, so not too bad for some soft laveeely dresses.

three tops- these tops caught my eye. One being a long sleeved striped top (super soft and cosy), the other a white floaty crop top which flatters very nicely (hey I might do a ootd on this) and a cami style red striped vest which I plan to wear with a bandeau. If you ever pass a Brandy Melville please please go inside, definitely worth it! (And if your going to America, make several trips) I tried on seventeen things!! I never ever have tried so much on in a store before. (Love at first sight if you ask me.....)

Malteser Cheesecake

My golly-god just look at this beauty of a cheesecake. So we go to my brothers for dinner every couple of weeks and I offered to make dessert (I am a bit of a baking fanatic) and I'd never made a cheesecake before so I thought I would give it a go.

This cake of cheese goodness (trying not to say cheesecake too much haha) has a layer of digestive biscuits, white chocolate and milk chocolate. I had a tad of a disaster when putting in the chocolate- I didn't melt it silly me! But other than that it went really well I didn't even need to bake it. I also sprinkled Maltesers on top because I simply wanted to and I was craving them *bad excuse* I was a little bit worried when trying it just incase I had poisoned it but not it was very delicious and tasted sooooo good! I will definitely be making this again...

  • 200g malted milk biscuits, crushed to crumbs
  • 100g salted butter, melted
  • 5 tbsp caster sugar
  • 2 x 300g tubs full fat soft cheese (we used Philadelphia; if you use soft or cream cheese from a deli counter the cheesecake might not set)
  • 300ml pot double cream
  • 300g white chocolate, melted
  • 200g bar milk chocolate, melted
  • 2 tbsp malt or Horlicks powder
  • 37g bag of Maltesers

  • little link to the recipe' here
(also I recently got myself a new instagram if you wanted to follow it click' here)

    visiting chelsea

As you can see from these beautiful pictures I visited Chelsea at the end of August, a beautiful city/ town in London filled with beautiful houses, extravagant shops and beautifully dressed men - future husbands ladies haha! The reason why? This was to visit a place called 'The Face' we got our hair, make up and nails done and then got pictures taken. It felt so glamorous to be pampered! It was such a lovely day and as you can imagine from the pictures my god it felt fancy *drools over Michael Kors and Mac*
I got to drool over the make-up in Space NK and then head over to Brandy Melville which was a dream. I have never tried on so many clothes before- they were softest may I just add. I wanted EVERYTHING. (I may have walked away with a few goodies, I may even do a haul if you interested?) There were also a selection of cakes and fudge to look over, each hand made and beautifully designed. We also went to Zizzi's for dinner, yes yes I had pizza typically. I had such a lovely day, worth a visit if you ask me.
    -a dream home destination-

I have a thing for stationery // supplies haul

So I left School this year and started College today actually (it was a good first day but I can tell its going to be difficult.) After having twelve weeks off it was a tad of a struggle to get out of bed this morning! So in order to pick me up and feel a little more positive about College I went to Tesco to search out some stationary.

So I tried Staples, Whsmiths and didn't have any luck unfornately (I kind of have a thing for pretty stationery so I wanted to keep on looking) I then went to Tesco and saw these beauties. (The notebook, pencil case and planner) Three perfect essentials I'm going to need to keep organised, write down revision notes and keep my pencils and things all in one place.
    - it worries me slightly that I got excited by stationery-
